Central Otago. 1962

Most photographed hotel in N.Z. Publican Jimmy Patterson was a local legend. He served me a glass from an already opened bottle of very flat Speights by removing the cork. If you were driving to Wanaka he only sold one glass. If you were going to Queenstown he would sell you 2 glasses because of the dangerous Crown Range road. I was riding my Vespa Scooter . Today the facade has been retrofitted with a stone building behind with excellent accommodation.
