DIY Project: Film Canister as Flash Diffuser

As most of us know, photography can be an expensive but a very rewarding endeavor. The economy today tells us that we have to do our part and learn the 3 R's. We all need to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Here is a simple DIY project using a film canister.

I love the colors of the XR film! Quite a few blurry shots but I like how this roll turned out!

these pictures were taken about 5 years ago when i went on holiday to the dominican republic. This was one of the tourist excursions, and i am so glad i went on it! A tropical island surrounded by a coral reef filled with fishies!! The camera was a £9.99 throw away camera, it was worth the money as you can tell by the pictures. Some of the film hasn't scanned very well as it has curled slightly due to being thrown in a drawer for 5 years, i'm glad ( after all the searching) i managed to find it :)

Walking around Turners this morning with my Canon 7E. I used a Voigtlander SL 40/2 and a Lensbaby Sweet 35 wide open. I had the Canon set at ISO 25 so I was surprised not to get the rich brown and blue tones that I have seen recently in a couple of albums. Nevertheless I had a lot of fun with trying doubles and messing with the two lenses and got some pretty good results.

Handmade color processing with Tetenal Color Colortec C-41 Rapid Negative Kit

After I started to develop black and white film, I really wanted to know if it was possible to do the same with color negatives, but the guys at the lab told me: “color film processing is different…you need to get the right temperatures, find the right chemistry, and the chemistry will expire fast, the lab is cheaper and reliable, you'll waste your money and time...” But I was decided!
