Emile Antoine Bourdelle(1861-1929), like Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres(1780-1867), a famous academic french painter, was born in Montauban. Towards the end of his life, he decided to donate some of his works to the city. They are now exposed in the Musée Ingres in Montauban alongside wonderful paintings by Ingres and other artists and a collection of stunning antique objects.
