goddess in the making..

driving back from south tripura, in the north east of india.. a delight..!!!!!..Goddess Saraswatis being "created"...!!!....and in the fast fading evening light, they appear ghostly and a bit scary too....with their faces that seem glow in anticipation of their sacred future..!!...made from the earth...these "goddesses in the making" were a joy to meet...
Saraswati is the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, arts, science and she is revered deeply in these parts.

Very cool and haunting. I had to look up the Goddess Saraswatis to find out who she was. I noticed that in some images she is represented with 4 arms and in others only two. I know so little about these things but that was interesting. And I learned a little about her and what she represents.

@alienmeatsack …. these were idols in the process of being completed..hence some with 4 arms..and others with 2 and the so on…it was interesting for me as well..coming from another part of India..to see such large scale preparations on the road side…by local artists...
