On Tour with LomoAmigos Dear Audrey

1

The band Dear Audrey took the LC-A for a spin and shared their recent adventures with us – touring around Salamanca and Sevilla.

How did you become Dear Audrey?

Dear Audrey has two different phases, we first got together by the end of 2014, through some managers in Barcelona, to create a project that we weren’t so convinced about. So we decided to go our own way a few months later. In summer 2015, the three of us went on a trip to play and compose some songs and Dear Audrey was born as you know it today, with the musical concept and sound that we currently represent.

What do you love most about your life right now?

Right now our lives haven’t changed much or at all actually, we enjoy when a new trip comes up for a Vodafone Music Show, where we play support shows for great bands such as Love of Lesbian or Dvicio, because it is like living the real band life, the one we want to experience for the rest of our lives. However, we spend the rest of the time rehearsing and trying to move around the musical world, which is not so easy!

…And least?

We can’t think of anything that we don’t like right now, maybe because we are just getting started!

Where were your photos shot?

When we got the collaboration proposal, we were just about to go on a trip as support group for the band Love of Lesbian. So we embraced this to show what these trips to Sevilla and Salamanca were like and what we did over there.

Have you ever used a Lomography camera before? What did you think of the LC-A?

The truth is that we didn’t know Lomography and we really loved how you work and the ideas you come up with, the camera you gave us is amazing. Furthermore, its vintage look sets you 20 years back and we really loved that.

Who used the camera the most?

Atila, without any doubt, he was like a paparazzi. He actually went on stage with the camera in Sevilla to take pictures of everything he could, but when we got off we realized the film was already full, which was really a pity since the photos would have looked too cool!

Where would you like to have your next gig?

We’re happy if we get to continue playing wherever we can, but it’s true that we want to keep moving around Europe to promote our music.

If you had to choose one of your songs to define yourselves, which one would it be?

We would choose the first single “Journeys”. It’s the single that named the whole album and it’s not a coincidence, it represents the sound we want, the acoustic/electronic mix with the predominance of our three voices. Additionally, it takes us back to this moment we mentioned earlier, when we went on a trip and this new phase of Dear Audrey began. It’s without a doubt a very special song to us.

With which artist(s) would you want to collaborate and why?

It’s always hard to answer this question because you usually have a lot of names that come to mind, but maybe James Bay, John Mayer or Jack Johnson would be amazing… and of course also Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers, Mighty Oaks… who are great influences to us and it would be an honor to work with them.

Now that your album “Journeys” is out, what else have you planned for the rest of the year?

Now that we have an album, our main goal is to move around and get people to know our music. We also want to prepare a music video and of course keep composing songs for the next album. Additionally, we will keep performing as a support group on Vodafone Music Shows until the next talent competition begins and the new winner will take over!
