Fuji Silvi 1000 LS : The Cheaper Version of Fuji Natura Classica?
16 19 Share TweetOne of my dream cameras is the Fuji Natura Classica. But poor me, I can’t find it anywhere in my country, and it will be very expensive to buy it online as well. Luckily, one day I found this camera called Fuji Silvi 1000 LS, which is only about US $10. Find out the performance of this camera after the jump!
Fuji Silvi 1000 LS is one of the cheapest Fuji compact cameras. It is a compact camera, silver, and also has a remote control! The looks of this camera may be similar to Fuji Zoom Date, and actually the features are also quite the same. It has a Super-EBC Fujinon Zoom 28-100mm Lens, which means it can zoom in and out, and also a built-in flash. And it uses a CR2 Battery, just like Fuji Instax Mini.
You can select 5 modes to shoot. There are auto modes (with flash) , red-eye mode, flash mode, without flash, and a low-power flash. After that, you can set it with or without the timer (up to 3 seconds) or you can set to use the remote control or not. For the focus setting, you can select Auto Focus, Landscape, and Macro. The last one is to set whether you want to insert date-time or not. See? It’s pretty much like Fuji Zoom Date.
But one thing that i love about this camera is its ability to capture lights even in low-light situations, just like a Fuji Natura Classica! I tried to use it without flash indoors and the results are amazing. At that time I used ISO 400 film. I also tried with ISO 800 film in overcast weather, it also looks good. I haven’t had the chance to use black and white and slide film though, but I think it will do just fine.
The remote control works well for self portrait and is also suitable if you pair it with low-power flash mode because low-power flash mode works well for portrait photos. I tried a little photo session with my friends with this pairing mode, and it was really fun!
Fuji Silvi 1000 LS has a weakness just like any other camera. Sometimes it has light-leaks. I think the light-leaks come from the small gap from the zooming lens. It makes a circular leaks in the corner of the photos.
In general, I love this camera even though I might buy a Fuji Natura Classica if i have enough money one day. After that day comes, I will use this camera to its maximum potential!
Have a nice day!
