Fireworks

Winter holidays are coming , so get your cameras ready for the most beautiful time of the year: New Year’s Eve.

This holiday is the perfect occasion for everyone to shoot fireworks at 00:00 on the 1st of January. Taking photos of fireworks is a great thing to do during that day and it may be a little tricky when having an analogue camera, but it produces great results.

It takes a little bit of time and you have to be ready for the perfect moment.”Be fast”-the 7th rule of Lomography. So,be prepared and shoot.

You need any type of film you can get, a camera with a Bulb mode setting for long exposures ,a tripod or a flat spot (optional) and a release cable(optional).

You need a tripod or a flat spot where you can put your camera to stay still because your exposure time is approximately 3-4 seconds. A release cable is also optional but it will be best to have it.

The important part :Exposure

So you have an aperture of f8.Using a film with 100 ISO, your exposure time will be 6 seconds.
Anything different you’ll have to add or decrease the exposure time.If you’re shooting some 100 ISO film and you have a f 5.6 your exposure time will be 4 seconds, so decrease 2 seconds. Count or use a chronometer.
