Nicolas und die Fürsten

Me and one of my oldest friends Nicolas went for another hike, this time in the gorgeous Appenzell area, walking up to the Chäserugg, a mountain of the Churfürsten chain with an amazing view on the Walensee. Complete with crazy scary cliffs and breathtaking views. Switzerland's golden autumn is unbelievable, especially coming from a few years straight living in Beijing. Hiking with a LF kit however, I only recommend it if you are as determined as I am, very heavy and leaves not much room for picknick and other essentials

I know my monitor can't do justice to the 4x5 but it really looks sharp!

@sierravictor yeah it's a nice lens (150mm Rodenstock) and a sharp film too, Delta 100... I think I shot this on f32, I love just staring at the negative, it looks so nice. I love grain too but on LF I am always amazed about the clarity of the image

@klawe Thanks! It's rewarding, hiking four hours for a view and a photograph. Makes that one shot worth so much more than all of my iPhone snaps all together

The main ridge in the back there seems to be a cave, and in that cave what is that structure curving out, lighter color than the surrounding sedimentary rocks, looks out of focus compared to the surrounding ridge. What is it?

@neufotomacher it's a paraglider! Unfortunately a bit blurred because of a 1/8th sutter speed I had... Look, there's another one in the sky top right. I definitely have to go try that out:)

@ihave2pillows Thanks! It comes with the game I guess, when taking the large format, you're on a mission, every frame counts and setup takes awhile, so there's lots of thoughts going into everything... I love it, it's like meditation to me
