@alex34 When I was a child, my Grandma Mabel had a copy of this photo on the wall of her beauty salon. I asked her friend, Ann Ross (old time actress, Google her) why Mama looked odd, and Ann said that when my Mama was a teenager, she was an aspiring actress, and tried to look sultry in photos, but all she achieved was dyspepsia. Then Ann had to explain dyspepsia to me. I don't know why I remember that. I think I had to be 5 or 6. @superlighter
