I love Gulang Yu, the island between Taiwan and Xiamen. The joy in the people, the many different faces, the stretch between the mysterious and the traditional. I hope to be back to be chasing vendors through the narrow streets....

The Western Australian government is (ignorantly!) worrying about the number of sharks off our coast.... perhaps they should be more concerned about the state's rampant dinosaur problem....

We've had so much snow this year. It's been beautiful but unfortunately hard to photograph because the temperatures have been sub zero, which makes my little cameras cranky. One day it warmed up to the 20's (fahrenheit) and while the snow was falling I donned my winter coat, grabbed my new Diana (courtesy of the very generous @clickiemcpete) and headed out to Lincoln Park to take some snow shots. Some of the photos have a smeared texture to them but that's just the snow falling on the lens creating snow filter of sorts. I kinda like the effect! Ah . . . and I had this song in mind when I shot this album http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cNeXWpTVlo Gotta love some Hazy Shade of Winter!
