My first roll of Sensia; loved it! Some photos were way over exposed, but that might've been my fault with the camera. In any case, I still loved the way they turned out!

  • City trip to Brussels with my OM-10

    shared by pcrlaban on 2012-03-02

I took a day off with my girlfriend to visit Brussels in february 2012. This was a good occasion to take my recently bought Olympus OM-10 camera with me, loaded with Redscale XR 50-200 to capture the atmosphere of the "old" city. Since the OM-10 is my first SLR, I had to get used to some specs of the camera. The OM-10 has a function to automatically choose the shutter speeds. That's why some of the pictures came out a bit blurry. Luckily, my OM-10 also has the manual shutter speed selector, so I'm sure I'm gonna play with this on my next roll and leave the automatic shutter speed selector for what it is. :)

this is another experiment with doubles using graphics of the mexican engraver josé guadalupe posada. the graphics are from a book (posada - mexican engraver) i once bought in one of my favourite bookstores in barcelona (ras). first time i used this with illustrations of the childs book the jungle book (http://www.lomography.com/homes/bloomchen/albums/1785569-the-jungle-book-vs-mexican-engravers-doubles) and promised more to come. this time i did doubles with record covers i chose out of my vinyl collection. i should add: don´t wonder about the udo jürgens disc because it´s just in my collection for other reasons than the music. i did the 2nd layer (graphics) with a makro lens i hold in front of my camera and this is why some are out of focus. it´s pretty hard to get it done good that way and so the first layer, too seems to be out of focus which wasn´t the case. so i guess i need to buy me a good lens to do such kinda pics in a more pro way.

this is a cross-over project inspired by my vinyl collection and a great artist - see below. minnie riperton is pretty unknown and therefore very underrated. she was a great singer wirh a great voice. the first time i heard a song of her it blew me away. i was like 'aaaah, wow, amazing!'. the same thing happened years ago when i stepped into the bookstore RAS in barcelona when i saw the posada book. i had never heard of him and liked it immediately. i´m even into ths kinda art but i had to buy this book. together these both are an incredible mixture. and the double here fits perfectly together. not only in a sense of the overlapping layers but although because minie riperton died at young age and the 2nd layer is of a skull. this is another experiment with doubles using graphics of the mexican engraver josé guadalupe posada. the graphics are from a book (posada - mexican engraver) i once bought in one of my favourite bookstores in barcelona (ras). first time i used this with illustrations of the childs book the jungle book (http://www.lomography.com/homes/bloomchen/albums/1785569-the-jungle-book-vs-mexican-engravers-doubles) and promised more to come. this time i did doubles with record covers i chose out of my vinyl collection. i should add: don´t wonder about the udo jürgens disc because it´s just in my collection for other reasons than the music. i did the 2nd layer (graphics) with a makro lens i hold in front of my camera and this is why some are out of focus. it´s pretty hard to get it done good that way and so the first layer, too seems to be out of focus which wasn´t the case. so i guess i need to buy me a good lens to do such kinda pics in a more pro way.
